hugo montenegro - neil's diamonds (1973)
....................

....................

hugo and his son teamed up for a series of moogie early seventies excursions. thanks to the other lounge bloggers on blogspot i now finally have copies of the elton john "rocket man" lp, "the dawn of dylan", and a very black and funky "others by rothers."

i had a south african pressing of neil's diamonds that has given me many hours of listens of pleasure, and recently picked up this rca import at a local record fair. the whole album is choice - if i had to pull a track for a compilation, it would have to be "sweet caroline" with it's fabulous bass drum rolls, or "brother love's travelling salvation show" which is funky as all hell...
....................

01 - cracklin' rosie
02 - i'm a believer
03 - song sung blue
04 - brother love's travelling salvation show
05 - sweet caroline
06 - porcupine pie
07 - girl, you'll be a woman soon
08 - two-bit man child
09 - walk on water
10 - hurtin' you don't come easy
