alfred hause
- romantic classics (1969)

if there was a competition for the most bland looking record in the most ill-begotten genre that still delivers a genuinely pleasing audio experience this one would be a strong candidate. i picked it up because it's alfred hause (suggested by a friend) and i was glad i did. now classics with a beat generally make me run for the hills, but alfred has managed to turn each of these selections into a lush tango with harp, accordeon and lovely arrangements. great for dinner with that special someone :).
it would be fun to have little concurrent post-athons with other blogs...i.e. unhip post-day, wacky post-day, obscure soundtrack post-day etc...

My dear friend Detour, I never heard before the Alfred Hause Orchestra so I saw it in the back-covers from some Polydor LPs.

But the sound from this orchestra is so exquisite, I like so much the performance and the arrangements, as like you suggested for hearing with magnificent company in a special place (as like in a dinner with candlelights), also I think that moment is special for having a nice time with my beloved wife :)

Greetings my friend and thanks a lot for your support and music.

with great pleasure karl. i know that you have the master-list of polydor release numbers safely kept in austria :). i'll soon be getting a complete list of release numbers for all delgado / wende releases which i will definitely forward to you. at some point we should think of putting them online perhaps? i know for myself it is very useful when i am searching for the date of a particular record to be able to use the actual code. i have sent you an email. we will speak soon.
kind regards,
david.
