while we're on the topic of inflight entertainment, this album was such a great find and an exquisite record, which i was first alerted to through the two tracks included on that first karminski comp. it is rather insane, but with such an effortless sense of style that in my mind makes it one of the great lounge classics. michel legrand had a brilliant career, but i cannot help but wish he'd made more such daring excursions into pop.
i was going to post this right at the start but was concerned about the sound quality - i ran it through some cleanup and hope it brings some joy. bon voyage...
ps: also released under titles "archi-chords" (france) and "plays for dancers" (usa) - tx guys.

This LP appeared in France, with the same track list I think, as "Archi-Cordes."
And I know this record as "Michel Legrand Plays for Dancers". This is one of the greatest French-Sixties-records of all time! Great post! :o)
i knew about archi-cordes but not plays for dancers. i agree totally roman! it's brilliant. so dramatic and totally unique in it's time. i mean, where did this guy get his references for this sound. it's crazy ;)
Di-Gui-Ding-Ding (or whatever) was my favourate track from the 1st in flight comp - thanks for the rest of this LP !
I've got a thing for "fast fiddles". I still think the 2 cuts that appeared on Inflight Entertainment were the best from this LP though.
thanks from the bottom of my soul
